How are they supposed to get anything done?
There is nothing more frustrating to employees than a pointless meeting. Any good employee would rather spend their workday actually getting work done than listen to their boss drone on for an hour about nothing. A lot of essential workplace communication can, and does, happen over Slack and email for a very good reason. Gathering a group to meet in person can be a huge waste of time unless colleagues are working together to solve a problem. There is value in a company-wide meeting where everyone receives the same information about the company’s state at the same time. But if you have one of those meetings once a week, you might want to consider having someone else write a newsletter instead.
