Boss sends prank email firing employee on April 31st, a date that does not exist: ‘What a terrible joke in this economy lol’

Is getting fired someone’s idea of a prank?

Getting fired is no joke, especially in this economy. It’s a tough job market out there, and everyone is struggling just to make ends meet. You would hate to be put out on the street with no job, and you would much rather leave on your own terms. Getting fired can cause some pretty serious ricochets in your life and send you down a path that you would rather not be sent down. So all to say is that it’s probably not a joking matter. Maybe you have a lighthearted relationship with your boss, and you have the kind of relationship where you can make jokes about your work without things getting too serious. You like to keep things lighthearted and fun around the office, and it makes working there just a little bit more bearable. But there is a line that you probably shouldn’t cross. Office pranks can be fun and harmless, but they can also contribute to a seriously bad working environment if you’re not careful.
