Bridesmaid spends over $1,500 for her friend’s wedding, but gets left out of photos, unnamed in the speech, and iced out on the big day

Being a bridesmaid used to mean holding a bouquet and standing next to your friend for twenty minutes. Now it’s basically enrolling in a timeshare you can’t get out of, except instead of a beach condo you get a dress you paid for yourself and a group chat full of demanding requests

The bachelorette trip math alone should come with a financial advisor. Somewhere along the way «let’s celebrate my friend» turned into «let’s crowdfund my friend’s vacation,» and if you don’t chip in extra for the bride and groom’s own share, congratulations, you’re the villain of a group chat you didn’t ask to be in. That’s not a party, that’s a mandatory fundraiser with a hotel pool.
