Care home coworkers refuse to believe employee even after being shown the resident’s updated dietary file, only to learn the chef and nurse confirm they were right: ‘Nobody apologized afterward’

Being right doesn’t always stop people from arguing.

A care home kitchen employee found themselves in an unnecessary confrontation after coworkers insisted a resident’s dietary information was wrong, despite being shown the updated food passport. The disagreement delayed lunch service and ended only when the chef and the nurse confirmed that the employee had been correct all along. Instead of apologizing, the co-workers simply glared at them for the rest of the shift, leaving the employee frustrated enough to report the incident to management.

Reading this story really made me pause for a minute and think about how people can sometimes be so mean. In this case, we have an employee who was telling the truth about a patient deity requirement, and her coworkers were roasting her, insisting she was wrong. The worst part of all? They were all against her, kind of as if they were plotting some sort of plan to get her looking bad.

And because of this whole dilemma, the dinner got served a bit later, and I’m sure that many people complain about that. But, besides that point, it really upsets me how sometimes people can be so mean without even taking a moment to pause and to double-check the information to avoid this whole mess. Because they left the employee feeling bad about her coworkers, especially in the end, when it was proved she was right and no one apologized.

The relationship you have with your coworkers is not always ideal. Although there may be times when you meet someone at work and become your next bestie, there are others in which jealousy is a big player and ends up affecting every bond you have with everyone. I’m not saying this was the case in this story, but usually, when coworkers want to make others feel bad, it’s because there is a second intention behind it.
