CEO Employs ChatGPT AI to Intimidate Multi-Billion Dollar Clients Into Paying Bills

ChatGPT has been popping up in almost every corner of the Internet – and even at the parties that my friends throw. ChatGPT (which stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI. The tool can be used to create AI art, to write papers, and even to create the hard-hitting content that Buzzfeed is known for. We’re definitely not even scratching the somewhat scary possibilities of the service, but it seems like every week we learn of a new use. This week, Greg Isenberg, CEO of Late Checkout and advisor at Reddit, revealed on Twitter that he had actually used ChatGPT to collect long-overdue bill payments from a multi-billion dollar client.

Isenberg explained in the thread that the client, who owed his company over $100k in payments, basically ghosted his design firm. Instead of dropping dollars on legal fees, Isenberg decided to see if Chat GPT could generate an official-sounding letter that would be intimidating enough to inspire the clients show him the money.

Spoiler alert: It worked.

While we’ve been raising our eyebrows at the helpfulness of these tools, and the future that they seem to signal, we could definitely use someone to help us talk our landlords down from raising our rent for the billionth time. Until then, we’re enjoying stories like this.
