One of the biggest reasons for the frequently frustrating divide between parents and childless people is how each group perceives the other. The childfree often look at those with children as crazy for making a decision that upends their lives so much, giving them a sense of entitlement that is unfair. Meanwhile, moms and dads can see the childless as an indulgent, unenlightened group with more spare time and money than they know what to do with.
It is no surprise, then, that when these two opposing groups are brought together, friction can occur. It is common in both friend groups and families when some have kids and others don’t. While in an ideal world, everyone would get along in perfect harmony, we know that this can be far from the truth in reality. There’s always somebody with the kind of attitude that causes more problems than solutions when it comes to having children.
