We doubt that when a single, child-free 28-year-old man thinks about his dream summer vacation in Florida, he visualises babysitting his married siblings’ children! (All three of them) So it is no surprise that he refuses when asked to babysit, while his siblings and their partners go off for their ‘double-date day!’ However, his brother and sister can’t quite grasp the idea that he doesn’t want to spend one of his vacation days covered in melted ice cream and neon armbands, while their off sipping coconuts on a beach lounger…All three adult siblings are the same age, so there’s no reason other than his single status that they’d put him on Uncle duty for the next 8 hours. 

Don’t get us wrong, he loves his nieces and nephews, but he still doesn’t consider himself a huge ‘kid-person’, and doesn’t think he should be left with this type of responsibility during his vacation week. Arguing that if the couples wanted a babysitter, they shoud’ve thrown some money in a bowl and hired one…Isn’t that just what other parents do???
