Clueless Guy ‘Debunks’ Housing Shortage Because a Home in Rural North Dakota Costs $15K

Complaining about high living costs in cities always inspires the same response: «Well, you could always live in a horrible place!» When millennials bemoan that they probably will never be able to afford a home, some genius always tells them, «You could afford to buy a home if you just bought the worst home in the world!» We’re living in bleak times regarding both housing and advice from elders.

It is true on some level that living in cheaper areas will increase your likelihood of buying your own home. Why do you think people move to the suburbs to buy a place? However, even suburban homes can cost over $750,000, and that is not at all worth it. There is no such thing as a starter home anymore unless you ask Twitter user @shagbark_hick, who has a «brilliant» idea about how to combat the housing shortage: just move to rural North Dakota!
