Comfy Ugg Memes to Slip on as the Weather Gets Colder

Forget all those clichéd generational marketing terms, like Millennial or Gen Z. If I belong to any culturally distinct age group, it’s generation Ugg. Throughout my adolescence, this queen of ugly-comfy footwear reigned supreme as the beloved off-duty shoe for teenage girls everywhere. When chillier temperatures started to make an appearance, it was as if you had no choice to completely forego arch support in favor of these fluffy foot microwaves. While they may have been warm, they were never the most practical shoe. Rain was their mortal enemy, and when you wore them down enough they started to do that weird thing where they began to sag at the sides. Plus, there was a not insignificant amount of people who thought they looked hideous.

I was never a full Ugg Boot devotee. I was bought a cheap knockoff pair one Christmas, that I dutifully wore well into the summer until they started falling apart a little. Status symbol fashion was never really my thing (I wasn’t like the other girls, you know). Nonetheless, I have many memories of this years-long beige takeover, which seems to be tentatively making a comeback. Just acknowledge when they need replacing this time around, I beg.
