In March 2020, the world gathered together digitally to watch a Netflix series. We were all locked in our homes; We would’ve watched anything that Netflix served to us, and boy howdy, did we. Tiger King exposed the dark underbelly of the big cat industry in the southern United States, focusing on the career and downfall of big cat breeder Joe Exotic. In one (and arguably, the only) unforgettable scene from the series, one of Joe’s employees got their arm bitten off by a tiger. At that moment, it was clear to everyone watching that owning big cats was a lot more dangerous than these big cat breeders had previously claimed. 

Unfortunately, not everybody learned from that series, and some influencers are still «adopting» big cats. One couple has made a splash on TikTok with their Serval named Chloe, and it’s clear she’s not too jazzed about living in a house without ample space to exercise.
