We knew that the pump-and-dump schemers of the crypto world were stupid – but sometimes we’re still flabbergasted by the idiocy they display on a regular basis on public forums such as Twitter. This week, the crypto grindset bro that most, well, ground our gears was a certain Gavin Mayo (@EarnMayo), who got roasted to a crisp by users of the bird app. See, he thought it would be impressive to share a video of a lighter he had dropped an insane $7k on. «I spent $7000 on a lighter today. We are not the same,» the tweet reads, accompanied by footage of him flicking a lighter that cost more than half a year of my rent. 

Gross shows of privilege like this rarely escape the wrath of Twitter users, and this instance proved no different. Not only did people call him out for a stupid, wasteful purchase – but they pointed out that he got stiffed. Apparently, as many people revealed in the replies, these lighters go for as little as 13% of guap he dropped on the glorified Zippo. And you know what? We don’t feel sorry for him. 

The replies are filled with similar sentiments, from people mocking his purchase to sharing their own inexpensive (or even free) pleasures. They also relished the opportunity to call out his apparent lack of hygiene, at least where his hands are concerned. We’ve put together our favorite of the replies. While OP doesn’t seem terribly fazed and is eagerly replying to insults, we have a feeling these tweets hurt more than he lets on. And that’s okay.
