New technology is so goofy. Remember when AirPods first came out and everyone was clowning them for looking, well, stupid? Now everybody wears them, and nobody bats an eye. That was only a couple of years ago. In this instance, though, I sincerely hope that this doesn’t become normal. Not to sound like a boomer screaming «kids these days,» but I think the whole VR headset in public thing is absolutely a bridge too far. We’re already so disconnected from each other by our screens and our headphones, but now you want to fully eliminate the outside world when you’re… outside? 

Sure, there are plenty of times I’ve been on the subway and wished I was anywhere else, but that’s life. I don’t know, maybe it’s already gone too far and we’re going to be lost to each other forever. Or maybe there are Luddites like me who will hold out as long as they can. Either way, get in on the hilarious discourse.
