Demented Dude Ridiculed For Spending 2k a Month on Bottled Water

There’s something palpably disgusting yet utterly riveting about watching rich, privileged people talking about their «everyday» lives. With the advent of social media, the regular old plebs of the world now have the opportunity to really see how the other half lives. Social media is a lot more revealing than shots from a rabid paparazzo, despite the fact that they can reveal a carefully curated view of the subject’s existence. That colorful and impeccably composed acai bowl sitting atop an influencer’s kitchen island? They want you to think it’s just their average breakfast. Spoiler alert: It’s probably not.

The one upside to rich, entitled people broadcasting every detail of their lives is that they often have no idea how absolutely insane they seem to us poors. It’s almost as if they lose a brain cell for every dollar and/or follower they gain. This means we get to watch all the terribly tone-deaf «beautiful people» offer themselves up to some serious ridiculous and roasting.

Two days ago, self-described «Brand King & creative director to the stars» Ryan Dubs gave the world a stunning example of the aforementioned obtuseness on his TikTok account. The offending video, which reads «2k/month on WATER.» Why in whoever’s name would anyone brag about this?

«I spend over two thousand dollars a month on high end water bottles delivered directly to my house, and as a water snob, it is such a luxury,» @ryandubs says. Two thousand dollars is more than most people make in a month. It’s the price of a teeny tiny one bedroom in New York City. Mr «Dubs» goes on to say «I know what you’re thinking – where do you keep it all?» and proceeds to show us that he has not one, not two, not three, but four refrigerators.

After showing us his boxes upon boxes of Voss bottled water (he complains that they are heavy, but says it is so worth it), the four-fridged maniac explains that he has always been a water snob who hates the taste of tap water. Until recently, @ryandubs had been having Fiji water delivered to his excessively applianced home, but he had a hard time wrestling with the amount of plastic waste his very particular preferences were creating. He alleges that Voss bottled water is «net carbon neutral,» and therefore a more eco-friendly choice. He goes on to say «Everybody has their thing,» but frankly, there is no way to make this expensive habit relatable.

The abhorrent clip made its way to Twitter, thanks to user @smartb*tch_69. While they had added «literally can’t even be mad» to the video, most people did not agree with the sentiment, and opted instead to mock the fact that he is drinking tap water (from Norway) and that the huge deliveries (and refrigerators) kind of cancel out the glass.
