Remember when you were little and you were rooting for Hercules to defeat Hades? Or for Maleficent to just leave Aurora alone? Or even for Ursula to just go away? You were so starry-eyed about the heroes and princesses. And, whether you’re a Disney Adult now or not, you still hopefully have a little whimsy and wonderment that keeps you rooting for them. That being said, a part of getting older is experiencing trauma that makes you a less naive and a little more cynical. Which makes it easier to connect to the Disney villains now. Maybe not to their entire devious plan, but definitely to bits of their thought process. For instance, Scar’s workplace was him surrounded by a bunch of incompetence aka the hyenas. Or Hades who tries to remind Meg that she shouldn’t go after Hercules cause he’s still a guy. 

So, yes, we all wish we could constantly be in that whimsy mood that has us falling in love like a Disney princesses and singing with happiness, but that’s just not adulthood. We get reality checks daily that has us cursing like Jafar!
