Listen. We get that it’s hard to make friends at work. Usually there’s a whole system of friendship, rivalries, and general politics. It can be difficult to break through and find a little camaraderie where you’re forced to spend the bulk of the week. Most people are capable of taking responsibility for themselves where these dynamics are concerned. We can’t all be social mavens – but we can be nice to one another and put forth the effort. This post in AITA comes from a salty, sensitive fellow who married a pretty special person. The couple moved to the South where OP started a new job – a job that his wife was really excited about. To celebrate, she told her husband that she had a surprise for him, after which she showed up at his work with a packed lunch of his favorite meal. A thoughtful move from a supportive partner. Unfortunately, hubby did not appreciate the gesture. Instead, he opted to berate his wife for embarrassing him in front of his colleagues, who have a penchant for some seriously immature bullying. Seeking validation of some kind, this idiot thought that asking r/AITA who the asshole was in this scenario. Unsurprisingly, support was in resounding favor of his generous wife.
