Y’all…let’s be real for a second. It’s 2023, and we should all know by now that it’s socially unacceptable to propose at somebody else’s wedding. Unless you have permission and the bride and groom are actually genuinely cool with it, there’s no reason to get on one knee at the reception unless you’re doing a needlessly complicated dance. That said, there are ways to handle the situation if somebody has the audacity to propose at your wedding. You will definitely have a very serious conversation with the person who proposed and try to understand why they thought that would be an okay thing to do. You might even ask them to leave your wedding, which I don’t think is completely out of line. Those options are so safe, though. Why not live on the edge a little bit? For a bit more flavor, you could do what this Redditor did and try to ruin the life of the guy who proposed (who’s also his brother) by firing him from your business. That seems reasonable, right?
