Life is full of ups and downs—don’t let yourself get stuck in the downs. Dark clouds can be all-consuming, but they have the ability to dissipate. You just have to make sure you give yourself some breaks. Take some very intentional mental health breaks. Doom-scroll with control. Take a little mental getaway with some memes. Let your mind wander into the LOL zone. Don’t give up on having a laidback.
Just because your boss was giving your strife all day over something that you have been working really hard on for weeks, doesn’t mean you need to go home grumpy. You could go home, stop and get yourself a little treat, and then go horizontal on the couch and scroll for like 10 or 15 minutes. Give your brain a break from the heavy thoughts of how to survive in today’s society, or what else is left on your to-do list, or reevaluating all those things your therapist brought up at your last session. It’s time to just meme. No thoughts, just meme. Sometimes you really just have to meme about it! You can talk about it, write about it in your journal, even meditate to the thought, but your brain can only take so much…
