Employee ‘quiet quits,’ purposefully tanked their numbers for 6 months before finally getting fired: ‘I honestly can’t believe it took them this long to notice’

«Quiet quitting» is one of those terms that came about pretty recently, and nobody is quite clear on the definition of it. Most of us probably associate it with the idea of purposefully doing a bad job at work so that eventually someone will notice and they’ll fire you and you don’t have to quit yourself. Or maybe it’s the idea that you just stop coming to work and they’ll eventually catch on. Or maybe it’s the George Costanza thing of actually quitting your job and then showing up the next day like nothing happened because you regret your choice.

The type of quiet quitting that happened in this job is an interesting one. After finding out that their values and beliefs didn’t align with those of their company, one employee concocted a plan to get out of there as unscathed as possible. So they set out on a mission to tank their numbers.
