There’s nothing greater than the love of our family! Or so they say…
Nah, I’m kidding; of course family love is one of the greatest forces out there. We may fight, we may have our disagreements, but we can always count on them to watch our backs when we get in trouble. And we get in trouble a lot.
The bond with each family member is different and unique, just like they are. With our parents, things were always tricky. When we were teenagers, we were desperate to prove to them we didn’t need them anymore, that we were responsible and knew what we were doing. Oh boy, how wrong we were. Now that we’re actually grown up, we realize we didn’t, in fact, know anything at all, and we needed them desperately. We still do, by the way. But now, they are the ones who are trying to get us to leave them be, saying, «You’re an adult; figure it out.» No, Mom and Dad, we need an adultier adult.
With our siblings, things are totally different. They are our best friends and our worst enemies. We spent our entire childhood playing pranks on each other and bugging one another, so much so that we lost count of how many times we ran downstairs to tell our sibling on Mom. Now, after so many years, our relationship is a lot more mature… kind of. We sure don’t have enough time to chase each other around the house, but who says there is no space for the occasional prank? After all, whenever we need help with a problem and we’re too embarrassed to call our parents, our siblings are there to help us pick up the pieces.
And what to say about grandparents? Well, they made sure to spoil us, which is great, because that’s exactly their job. They had already taken care of raising their own children, so they had the green light to smuggle candy and give it to us when our parents weren’t looking. We definitely have a lot of stories about going to our grandparents’ house and exploring till the last inch.
Our families have always been there for us, in one way or another, so this meme list is to share with them and laugh at all the relatable situations that we’ve been through since we were children.
