Father kicks out 22-year-old stepson after stepson ‘pranks’ him by wrapping all his work supplies with duct tape, mother sides with son: ‘He’s just a kid’

Until what age is it still appropriate to call someone a ‘kid’ and use it as an excuse for their bad behavior? While it might count as a cute nickname, allowing someone to act like a kid should be restricted to a certain age period, and after that, it should definitely not be considered cute anymore.

Picture this scenario for example – A ‘kid’ decided to prank his father by covering all his work and office supplies with duct tape, and essentially ruining important documents that his dad needed for work. If the kid is 10 years old, this might be considered an innocent prank gone wrong, and the kid could be forgiven for doing something reckless by accident. However, what would you say if you learned that the ‘kid’ in question is not actually a child, but a 22-year-old man who still lives with his parents? Does his ‘prank’ still count as innocent? Is he really still a ‘kid’ who deserves to be let off the hook for pulling this reckless prank on his father?

The father in this Reddit story surely didn’t think his stepson should be forgiven for the prank he pulled, and he went as far as asking his stepson to move out because of it. The mother, however, did not agree with her husband’s reaction…
