FinTok Bro Prompts Backlash After Posting Exploitative “Infinite Money Glitch”

When it comes to making money, the term «passive income» can be a loaded phrase. Defined as all the ways in which we can earn while doing a minimum of work, the reputation of this wealth growing method varies widely.

For some people, it’s the open secret for unlocking the door to being stupid rich. For others, it’s a byword for shady, underhand dealings and exploitative business practices that are dominated by morally bankrupt individuals.

While the latter opinion may not always be the case, it’s not always helped by the proponents of some of these easy money making schemes. This has recently been proved by the outrage caused by @ezekielbentancourt after he shared a questionable method of doing this.

Calling his process an «infinite money glitch», he advised people to pick up remote data entry jobs on freelancing platform Upwork, then outsource them to Filipino workers, whose cheap hourly rate allows for a large profit.

Almost immediately, the video caused backlash. Many denounced his advice as shockingly unethical. We’re all for working smarter, not harder — but not at the expense of those who already live in poverty.
