For me, it’s gotta be avocado toast. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. But I’m not out here Instagramming every slice and causing an avocado shortage. In this Reddit thread, the OP asked, «What’s a food trend you’re just waiting to see fade away?» Surprisingly, avocado toast didn’t top the list. Is it officially cheugy now? Who knows. Let’s move on.

I was a little hurt that Crumbl Cookies got some shade for being overrated. I don’t know about that one. But I can totally hop on the bandwagon of groaning about those food trucks that charge an arm and a leg, the QR code menus that make us feel like tech geeks, and all the other trendy food fads that I hope are just that – fads. But while they’re still around, let’s have a giggle about how over-the-top they can be. I mean, do we really need yet another flaming-hot product from Frito-Lay? Apparently, yes.

Even though us highly educated internet folks can see the absurdity in some of these modern food trends, we can’t deny they’re here to stay, at least for now. So, let’s enjoy the fact that we can collectively shake our heads at them, because as soon as these trends move on, you best believe there are more on the horizon.
