Twitter has been more than a little bit of a shitshow lately. While we can blame Elon Musk for a lot of that, the truth is it’s always been pretty insane. One of the more insane phenomena that we’ve noticed lately is fake accounts trying to garner sympathy for their family’s experiences with Covid-19. That’s on top of all the fake accounts that are normally buzzing around the site. Fakeness isn’t the only problem we face on Twitter. It’s the absolute shamelessness with which people spout generally offensive racist, sexist, and homophobic bile. While these awful people do make the Twitter experience less enjoyable, there are (thankfully) still funny and observant individuals out there who do their best to make the site an entertaining place. As people who are forced to spend time on the app for work, we owe these people a thank you. And we want to share their hard work with you.
