You know what?  Maybe a lot of the dogs in our lives have a harder time with everything than we usually think. Sure, most of them spend their entire lives doing nothing but eating, going for walks, sleeping, and being showered with affection, but they are also completely reliant on us to provide the environment to do all of these things. 

Also, they have to deal with all our silly human neuroses. If you’re a pet owner who thinks that this isn’t true of you, it probably makes you more of a problem. In a way, the amusing methods we use to anthropomorphize dogs through the medium of memes is a way of working through how our behaviors affect our canine friends. Let’s not get it twisted, they are still lucky to have us. However, we’re indebted to them too, both in the realm of funny pictures and with their companionship.
