Things have been relatively quiet for the Lord of the Rings fandom of late. After all the insane drama (and to be quite frank, blatant racism) surrounding The Rings of Power, even the most annoying and pedantic whining feels like a relief. We’ve been able to enjoy the funniness, and the rewatches, without interruption. This week, however, we’ve been hearing a lot of rumblings about the new The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game. And lemme tell ya, the rumbling ain’t positive. 

While reviews are not the most favorable, the discourse surrounding the game is mostly harmless – absent of some of the less savory opinions that were being flung around about Amazon’s prequel. People are even making memes, which is the kind of communication we can get behind. While we’ve got a few of the Gollum-related memes in here, most of this week’s offering features the tried-and-true Lord of the Rings humor we know and love, with an extra sprinkling of roasty Eowyn memes. Sorry, girl. We still love you.
