Goodbye, Bad Boy Weekend

It’s time to pour one out for bad boys everywhere. Social movement and official TikTok holiday Bad Boy Weekend is no more.

Also known as the ‘Why Do Good Girls Like Bad Guys?’ challenge, its videos are soundtracked to Good Girls Bad Guys by Falling In Reverse. The premise is simple: you film yourself dressed in a nerdy and/or formal way before cutting away to a significantly edgier outfit and setup.

Just like Hot Girl Summer, Bad Boy Weekend is all about a state of mind. While its name may suggest that it’s gender-exclusive, it is open to anybody willing to showcase their versatility. There’s no wrong way to reveal your Bad Boy side, but it helps if the transformation is a dramatic one, in keeping with the ethos that you can be the biggest dweeb and the most badass at the same time.

The movement has had three years of sustained popularity but its creator, Twitter user _Mabson_, recently announced that this Memorial Day weekend would be its last outing. In memoriam, we’ve collected some of the best examples of it this time.
