High school football coach mocks parents for wanting more water breaks for their sons practicing in the Texan summer heat: ‘I believe in WORK, not WOKE!’

If there’s one thing I learned from growing up in Texas, it’s that a high school football coach is never wrong. We all know that isn’t true, but it might as well be true if you’re in a community that values football above all else. Like in universities across America, football coaches are often the most revered and well-paid faculty members in an entire school district. While a coach’s skill sets are valuable, I wouldn’t say they’re not more useful than teaching math or history. Hopefully, that sentiment won’t get me banned from the state for life.

One anonymous high school football coach recently went viral for publically responding to parents’ complaints on Facebook. According to the post, he was making student athletes practice outside in Texas summer heat twice a week and was in some way restricting water breaks. Worst of all, he was dismissing heat strokes as an actual phenomenon. All I can say is yikes.
