Most of the first ten amendments of the United States Constitution make a lot of sense in a modern context. Freedom of speech and the right to bear arms are important parts of the constitution that Americans debate daily. However, those first two amendments have a little brother that doesn’t entirely level up in contemporary importance. 

The third amendment reads, «No Soldier shall, in time of peace, be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.» Most of us do not deal with the issue of soldiers trying to live in our houses without our permission. It seems like a real late 1700s issue. That doesn’t stop some people from being incredibly passionate about the 3rd amendment.
