While stoners were busy celebrating 4/20 yesterday, oil prices decreased all the way down to less than $0 USD. The dramatic crash (which has been attributed to the economy’s struggle with coronavirus) is the first time oil prices have ever dropped that low. While the historic slump (there was eventually a small rebound) has definitely caused panic amongst economists, it’s inspired some seriously amusing and irreverent memes on Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. And it’s to be expected. As2020 brings one miserable surprise after another, how else can people respond? We’re happy to see people cope via humor.
