The only thing harder than getting a job is getting comfortable in a new position when you finally start. Different responsibilities, office politics and breaktime small talk can be intimidating when all you really want to do is make sure they like you enough to keep you on for another month. This can lead to some pretty strange behavior, as @chismosavirus has been reflecting on. 

Recalling how starting a new job once made her embarrassed to fill her Hydro Flask properly, other people soon added anecdotes of their own awkward newbie issues that had made their working lives harder. Unsurprisingly, a lot of them relate to bodily functions — because for some dumb reason, it can be difficult to admit that you do human things like eating and pooping when you want to seem like a good little worker drone. While the thread has served as a therapeutic release for all those shy employees out there, here’s hoping that one day we all get over ourselves and can use the office microwave without feeling an overwhelming sense of shame.
