Everyone has different wishes for how they’d like to spend eternity. You might just want to go to the conventional route to please everyone and make matters simple. But this doesn’t mean that everyone has to do the boring thing. The hereafter doesn’t have to be boring, and losing someone doesn’t mean you have to make everything so serious. Odds are, the person wants to be remembered like they were alive. If they were dry, boring, and serious… a dry, boring, and serious funeral is probably the right thing to do. But if the person had a wild streak and a wonderful sense of humor, then they might want something a little more fun.
This isn’t going to make everyone happy, though. After all, these types of arrangements are really for the benefit of the living. The deceased can’t really be there to enjoy it anyway. That’s the quagmire one woman found herself in after she lost her grandmother.
