«I have learned something that should be illegal»: Cracked out TikToker reveals Panera drink’s dangerous nutrition facts

There’s a reason people have been swapping coffee for «healthier» alternatives like green tea and mushroom brews. While green tea also contains caffeine, it also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm and helps counteract caffeine’s negative effects like insomnia, panic disorders, and anxiety. It’s true that a couple of cups of coffee won’t kill you, and might make you feel invincible, but people are realizing that the benefits may not outweigh the cost or heart palpitations. That said, energy drinks containing caffeine and guarana have remained popular. But how regulated are their ingredients? And do people know how much caffeine they are – or should be – imbibing? The answer to the latter question is no, according to one perplexed TikToker, who took to the app to share her shock at the nutrition facts of Panera Bread’s «Mango Yuzu Citrus Charged Lemonade.»

TikToker @sarahebaus‘s revelation, in the video below, that the «regular» size of the beverage contains a whopping 260 milligrams of caffeine may be shocking, but it definitely explains her agitated and hilariously cracked-out vibe. In addition to the caffeine, the beverage (again, «regular» size) boasts an alarming 82 grams of sugar. That’s the same amount of sugar as two cans of Coca-Cola. Woof. More alarming is the fact that @sarahebaus has been downing four of these drinks during her workday. So far, it doesn’t seem like our hero has any permanent damage to her heart, but the drink seems to have done permanent damage to her psyche and has caused quite a hubbub on the internet. Twitter users weighed in on the drink this week, sharing both shock over and desire for the drink.
