This woman was prepared to share a celebration-worthy milestone with her family members, but when they immediately excluded her and belittled her achievement, she snapped—and with good reason.

Nothing’s worse than getting burned by a family member. And I’m not talking about a silly joke or a lighthearted diss, but a real, 3rd degree burn. We count on our family to have our back when we need them, supporting our struggles, our dreams, and most importantly, supporting our achievements. So when this woman planned a party with her closest family to celebrate her 1-year of sobriety, she was excited to acknowledge her accomplishment with the ones she loved most. 

However, things quickly went south after she shared her big news when her family immediately popped a bottle, poured each other a glass, and completely belittled her announcement. With that burn in mind, she decided she didn’t want to be surrounded by a pack of wolves who clearly didn’t share her mindset—and on her way out, she took the celebration cake she’d brought to share with everyone.
