‘I just roll my eyes and mark whatever answers make me look good’: Bartending job requires insane logic test in online application

Ever since AI has become widespread, the job market is even crazier than it once was. Remember the good old days when you could rock up to your local watering hole, say «Joe, I’ve fallen on hard times. I need a job,» and then Joe would say «‘Course, buddy. You’re a dear friend of the community and a staple at this here bar. Pick up a rag, buddy. Can I pay you in cash?» And boom. Employment sorted. Okay, this may be my imagination of a sort of Wild West that likely didn’t exist, but you get my point.

Job searches used to be analog. Showing up was the most important part. Especially for service industry jobs at restaurants and bars. Now, the world of recruiting is a terrible one. Even the most entry-level jobs require prostrating to the higher powers of tech. Like in this recent example from Reddit that’ll really turn you into an old man shouting at the clouds.
