How and why does a mere image become an enduring meme? Is it because there is something inherently funny and special about it, or is it simply because it scratches the itch of recognition and relatability immediately upon viewing it? That’s a question that can be asked of every viral sensation, but it isn’t always easy to answer. Most John Pork fans couldn’t articulate why he’s such a longstanding popular meme outside of him having a palpable it-factor. But that’s a heavily doctored image, supposedly crafted with the intention of being funny.
