You’d think that by now people would stop taking photos with or in front of dead or dying people. But, alas. Every month brings a new and impressively tone deaf person to our screens, practically begging to be taken down by the pitchforks of the internet. Today’s focus is on Miami influencer Jayne Rivera, who used her now-deleted Instagram account to share a series of very posed photos – in front of her father’s open casket.

The cringe garnered some seriously scathing responses from Twitter users, who decried the move’s tackiness and compared it to stunts from other equally dumb people who really need to log off, touch grass, etc. While we can’t blame the perturbed parties, there are some people who have come to Rivera’s defense, explaining that people grieve in different ways. But taking an overly-groomed photo with one’s ass sticking out doesn’t really feel like grief from where we’re standing. And it certainly didn’t feel that way to most people. Hopefully Rivera’s experience helps people realize that they really, really shouldn’t do shit like this. Ever.
