OMG!!! Taylor and Travis got married, it finally happened!! Us swifties are all just as thrilled as Taylor herself is about this, I assure you. It feels like we’re seeing our own personal best friend achieving a lifelong dream. After all the songs she gave us that made us feel so seen, it’s only natural that we want her to be as happy as she’s made us.
Taylor has waited for her prince charming to find her since she was a teenager, we can hear that in her lyrics. But in the meantime, she’s made one of the most solid careers in the history of pop music, and we love her all the more for it. Instead of sitting down to wait by the door, she went out there and fulfilled her other lifelong dream: sharing her music with the world.
It’s wonderful to see someone who is not afraid of saying out loud that she’s a hopeless romantic, and at the same time to be «The Man,» so to speak. Sometimes we’re worried that if we focus too much on our careers, we’ll never have time for a personal life or romance. Or we think that if we want romance, it’s impossible to succeed in the workplace and build a career that we love. Truth is, both are not mutually exclusive. We just need a bit of balance, and the right person by our side, of course.
Taylor found the right formula: find someone who’s equally good on his own, and with whom you can share what you love and what makes you special without either of you feeling like they’re competing. You can be top-tier on your own, and together. And there’s nothing better than that.
It was so amazing to see Taylor and Travis getting to know each other’s worlds. For one thing, I never thought I’d see Taylor screaming at the television screen after a touchdown. And Travis saying that he got her a friendship bracelet for when he went to her concert. I swear, we hardly ever see two people so besotted with one another and so proud of the other’s achievements. So, to celebrate the wedding and all things Taylor, we have 26 memes (13+13=26, our girl’s lucky number) that remind us of her and all the joy her lyrics bring us, because today «the sky is Opalite.»
