How hard can it be to plan a nice wedding? Apparently, a lot more than I thought… 

The good thing about being a bridesmaid and helping your friends plan their weddings is that you gain some experience and get to see firsthand how much of a crazy process it is. The bad thing about helping your friends plan their weddings is that you get to see firsthand how crazy a process it is… It’s both sides of the same coin, and boy, is it a capricious coin. You never know what’s going to happen when planning a wedding, and that’s both part of its charm and what freaks me out the most. 

There are so many details to plan that you don’t know where to begin! Or at least, that’s what’s happening to me. In theory, I know everything that’s needed for a wedding, and I’ve helped my friends by giving them suggestions, ideas, and helping them handle stress. But when it comes to starting to plan my own, I have no idea what I want. All I know is that I want it to be classic and elegant, whatever that means.

You see, I never had a Pinterest vision board with what I wanted my wedding to look like, and now that I have to start thinking about it, I don’t even know what I want. In my defense, I never intended to celebrate with a big party in the first place, but my soon-to-be fiancé does. So we’re trying to find a middle ground. And thank goodness, at least we both agree on what we don’t want; that’s a start! I guess now I’ll have to find sources of inspiration somewhere, and memes are a great way to do that!
