King of the Hill remains one of the greatest sitcoms ever made. It’s one of those shows that doesn’t rely on hokey humor and cares deeply about telling a compelling slice of life narrative of a middle-class family. The show works so well because all of its characters are realistically flawed. Hanks is emotionally stunted, Peggy is narcissistic, and Bobby is practically perfect in every way. Everybody needs a friend group like Hank, including one guy who’s getting cucked, a textbook loser, and one who is so sexy that his incomprehensible language skills are not a turnoff. 

One of the best parts of King of the Hill is its location in Arlen, Texas. As a Texan, the show gets the cultural nuances of Texas History class and Whataburger 100% correct. Its authentic portrayal of the Lone Star State is just the icing on the cake of a 10/10 program. Whether you hail from the DFW metroplex or not, King of the Hill memes are worth perusing.
