It may be hard for us to believe now, but there was a time when we did most of our reading off of a page instead of a screen. Despite the best efforts of technological advancement to squash the traditional version of the written word, books still rule when it comes to novels, cookbooks, poetry and more —even if you do use a Kindle. 

Many of us may have shattered our attention spans with internet addictions (calling myself out here), but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the unique pleasures of settling down with a good book when we find the spare time. The pen isn’t just mightier than the sword when it comes to persuasion, but also when it comes to enjoyment. Admittedly, I’ve never picked up a sword. Nevertheless, literature is great, and there is a wealth of it out there to get stuck into. Just make sure to cement that love of words with these bookish memes first.
