This boss took workplace discipline a little too far. 

Sometimes something happens at work, and it makes you look at everything in a different light. A new piece of information comes to light about one of your coworkers, and it can be hard to wrap your mind around. That’s what happened to the employee in this story, who ended up having to draw a serious boundary with their employer. They were starting to realize that the punishment they were using was completely inappropriate for the workplace. Sure, you might wish you had an air horn to sound off in meetings when people say things that annoy you… But this isn’t what we’re actually allowed to do. But the boss in this story was ignoring all that. They wanted to do something unconventional, and nobody was going to stop them from doing that.

The boss in this story had a very strange way of keeping things positive in the workplace. This is a noble goal, if a little strange. But the problem was, the coworkers in this story didn’t quite appreciate that. They felt like they were being treated like animals, not humans. They didn’t appreciate the disrespect and wanted to do something about it. The problem was, it’s not always easy to speak up to someone who isn’t ready to hear it. The boss in this story didn’t think that they were messing up, but their employees weren’t so sure.
