We never thought that we’d say that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had done us a favor, but life, they say, is full of surprises. Political rants aren’t usually our speed, but yesterday’s was a gift that just keeps on giving on social media. In an interview with the One America News Network, MTG accused House Speaker of using the U.S. Capitol Police as «pawns,» saying «Not only do we have the D.C. jail, which is the D.C. gulag, but now we have Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress.» Naturally, Taylor Greene meant to say «gestapo,» comparing the U.S. Capitol Police to the brutal secret German state police of the Nazi regime.

The fatal error caused the internet to explode with glee. On Twitter, users were especially excited by the mistake, and eagerly served up soup-related puns, jokes, and roasts in response. While some are admittedly groan-worthy, others (especially from Patton Oswalt) had us totally tickled.
