It doesn’t matter if you’re a film bro who regularly attends repertory movie screenings or a cinema know-nothing who only goes to the theater once a year to see Wicked or Deadpool & Wolverine; I’m willing to bet you’ve heard the complaint that «Movies are too long these days.» Perhaps you’ve even made this complaint yourself after watching Gladiator II or Oppenheimer in theaters. It’s one of the most culturally benign and generally accepted takes on movies. But, this isn’t true, and the people who believe it need to change, and can if they’re willing to try.
