‘Oh you don’t know these? Hmm, it’s like all over TikTok’: Sarcastic teacher gaslights his students with made up Gen Z sounding slang

You know that feeling when you first hear a slang word and think, ‘Wow, this is so stupid, who would say this?’ And as you say the slang in a joking way (no doubt, making fun of the stupidity of it), you find the word working its way into your daily vocabulary… unironically. Oops!

For me, this familiarity phenomenon was most notable when people started saying ‘lit’– you know, ‘that’s lit’, or ‘we just left a super lit party’. Like a plague, it starts small, but slang is so catchy and so viral that it can take hold in any form at any time.

TAKE CAUTION, MY AGING FRIENDS, SLANG CAN STRIKE AT ANY TIME.

Gen Z has some pretty insane-sounding slang. No cap, bussin’, OnGodForRealForReal–these broccoli-headed youngens are creating new slang on a daily basis, as if they’re trying to outrun the typical language of the older generations. Everyone wants to be special I guess. But fortunately for us, a teacher decided to take the trends into his own hands, creating Gen Z-sounding slang and hilariously gaslighting his students into thinking THEY were the ones who were behind on the times.

Scroll to enjoy some clipped slang that’s completely made up, but gives Gen X and elder Millennials the wheel on controlling the slang once again.
