‘Ooooo, You Want to Go on a Date With Me. Oooo, You Want Me So Badly’: 17 Dating Memes for When You’re Getting Back Out There

I’m here to tell you that dating someone randomly to ‘move the energy around’ actually works

Trust me, I also didn’t believe it when people told me this, but I tried it, and it worked, so I can’t refute it now.

Last Sunday I went on a date with a guy I didn’t like that much, and it turned out to be the opposite of what I thought it was going to be. The date went great, and a random other very cute guy added me on Instagram. So weirdly, I’m the living proof that going out with someone might move stagnant energy around in the universe, and things can start working for you, so I highly recommend it.

I used to think people you don’t absolutely like from the start could never make you like them, but it turns out they can. Sometimes we have very rigid impressions of what a person is going to be like before knowing them, and once we get to know them a little better, those impressions can change.

So now, instead of wondering if I’m ever going to meet somebody, like I was two weeks ago, I’m suddenly wondering who else I’m going to meet, and it sounds fun. It’s funny how quickly perspective can change, and things that seemed so disappointing can absolutely shift from one day to the next.

It feels like the universe notices when you stop feeling so defeated and decides to send you more experiences for you to enjoy. Remember my words when you decide to date someone you’ve been putting off, and suddenly somebody else asks you out.

Call it an energy shift, call it a change in your perspective. Maybe nothing really changed, but you started feeling like everything is possible again, and that’s the key to feeling completely different and excited about your dating life again.

Of course, I know going on one date doesn’t mean my love life is going to go great from now on, but it’s just a little reminder that anything is possible and that every desperate situation can change, even if you get your heart broken again.

Dating is unpredictable, like almost everything in life, but it’s nice to remember that things can turn into something meaningful just as much as they turn to nothing.

When we’re frustrated with dating (or anything, really), we tend to assume that’s how things will always go. A string of bad experiences suddenly becomes a predictor of how things will always be, or about the people we attract. I’m here to remind you that things can change any time.

It’s good to try to be better, but luck is luck, and not everything is because of your past traumas. It’s fun to get back out there and see if the universe has a new type of experience in store for us. You truly never know.

I might sound ridiculous now, but when your romantic landscape has suddenly changed three weeks from now, don’t come back asking for forgiveness. Told ya!
