Whenever I invite my parents over to my place, whether it is for a short hangout or a full-on dinner, I am a nervous wreck. What can I say, I want them to be proud of me and my life, and when they visit the place I live it they get a full glimpse at that.

Thankfully, I have yet to experience a visit from them in which they constantly criticize me like they do in my nightmares, so I call my methods a success.
The son in the story below, however, cannot say the same. From the minute his parents arrived for their Thanksgiving visit, he has been working nonstop to keep them happy, but nothing seemed to work. At some point, their criticism got so bad that the son felt like he had no other choice but to ask his parents to leave. The parents comply, and since then, they have been refusing to apologize for their entitled behavior.
