People Are Not Happy About the New Host Of Jeopardy

As an avid Jeopardy watcher, I haven’t been much of a fan of the rotating cast of hosts. Most of them kind of sucked. Especially Dr. Oz. LeVar Burton and Aaron Rodgers were pretty great. As was Jeopardy alum Buzzy Cohen. Robin Roberts deserves a mention, too. But honestly, most people were expecting 74 time Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings to get the gig. LeVar was a close second – the internet seemed to be cheering the Reading Rainbow host and Star Trek alum on. We were all so, so wrong.

Instead of going with a fan favorite, or at least someone moderately likable, it was announced that Jeopardy Executive Mike Richards was going to be taking over for our beloved Alex Trebek. And Mayim Bialikfor special occasions. If you’re wondering who the hell Mike Richards is, you’re not alone. He was definitely one of the more boring guest hosts, if you can even remember his stint. And he comes with a host of pretty shitty accusations. The worst? Allegations of workplace discrimination. And then there’s the fact that he’s only been the Executive Producer for two years. Interesting that he’s suddenly thrust into the spotlight. It really feels like the guest hosts were thrust into our lives for show. Needless to say, The decision has received a lot of criticism from diehard Jeopardy fans, and a whole lot of mockeryon Twitter. And you know what? We’re reveling in the haterade.
