For most people, the only thing they remember about biology class is either that one-week lesson in human reproduction or the silliest, microdetails about the composition of a living cell. The nerds who latched onto the latter topic are the ones who went forward to become biologists, studying life and the way it works, while simultaneously hating themselves for picking the most ridiculed science field of all. Just because some of us scientists want to study cute animals instead of titration models or the depths of outer space, doesn’t mean our work is less than! These dung samples aren’t going to inspect themselves, you know. 

Bacterial passions aside, biologists catch a lot of flack from the other folks in the STEM fields, but who cares about quantum mechanics when you have a septic tank on the loose? When we need biologists most, they crawl out of the woodwork and save us from the living things that wreak havoc. Oh and like any real powerhouse, they’ll always remind you about mitochondrial functions and which ATP is here to save us.
