The world as we know it would not exist if it were not for mountains of code propping up just about all the systems that we rely on, and boy, do programmers feel that when they are just trying to do their jobs. Vibe coding aside, programming is meant to have a certain logic to it that can sometimes seem lacking when going through the painful debugging and testing processes. Coding-ignorant civilians are (kind of) thankful for all the work that those who can code put into the system, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t get frustrating at times.
That is one of the many reasons that programming memes are such a welcome addition to the crowded field of internet humor. They draw back the curtain on the difficulties, but they are entertaining enough that it feels more like a form of therapy than yet another way of complaining.
