There are few professions and identities that feel as chronically misunderstood as the programmer. Much of the non-coding public sees them as nerdy shut-ins with mysterious technical powers, friends consider them a bottomless resource for programming advice, building websites, and app ideas, and project managers seem to consider them endlessly adaptable wizards forever ready to adapt to the whims of the client.
Perhaps some of these preconceptions are based on truths, but that doesn’t make them any less annoying or inconvenient. On top of that, there are all the actual responsibilities that come with making computers work, and that being your livelihood.
At least programming memes are there to ease the pain and provide a few laughs along the way. Nobody knows how to meme like the people who (possibly) understand the technical mechanics that enable memes to be created and shared by the whole world in the first place.
